Randy Templeton

Randy Templeton comes from a large family, the third oldest of 6 boys and 2 girls. He grew up in eastern Iowa in the town of Maquoketa and has been hunting since the age of seven.

Today, Randy is known by many as an expert in the field of whitetail hunting strategies. However, his love for the outdoors has also taken him on many hunting adventures to places like; Colorado for elk and mule deer, Iowa & Missouri for wild turkeys, Quebec for caribou, Saskatchewan for black bear, and NW Ontario for moose and black bear. He has also hunted Russian boars in south Florida and California.

Randy got his big break as an outdoor writer in 1992, after winning a writer's contest that had been publicized in both Western Bowhunter and National Bowhunter magazines. First place found him on a dream hunt with the Editor, Doug Walker and the legendary Jim Dougherty at the Y.O. Ranch in Texas. The following year Randy began writing a column in National Bowhunter titled; "The Heartland Bowhunter."

It was shortly thereafter Randy began freelancing and has since authored nearly 400 articles. His writings and photography have appeared in the country's leading magazine publications such as; North American Whitetail, Bow & Arrow Hunting, Petersen's Bowhunting, Bowhunter, Mossy Oak Hunting The Country, Whitetail Journal, Outdoor Life, Big Buck, Canadian Bowhunting, Western Bowhunter, and National Bowhunter.
