This year is my second year bowhunting and my second year with a TomKat.  Two weeks into hunting two large bucks came out 15 minutes before the end of shooting time.  The buck I took and another the same size without the drop tine stepped out to 52 yards.  I watched the bucks for 5 minutes before I decided I was going to have to make the long shot.  The arrow flung into the lung and the deer made a 180 and went busting into the woods.  I came back four hours later found a nice blood trail that ended after 150 yards. Six of us searched in every direction for hours but nothing could be found.  I came back the next day and searched again and set up a camp to look.  On the second evening I went out to hunt elk over the ridge when at dark I came across my deer on a game trail.  The arrow had only penetrated one lung and he had run almost a mile into the deep dark timber.  The deer has over 30 inch spread with 7 inch drop time.  I am waiting for the mandatory 60 day drying period to get it scored but he should be close to 200 P & Y.  He has width of over six inches in some spots and forks at almost 18 inches.  He is lifetime buck on public land.
